This month we are thrilled to be joined by local musician and Beatles enthusiast, Martin Gil- man, for a musical mystery tour through thirteen of the group ’ s albums from “ Please Please Me ” to “ Let It Be ”. Advance booking is essential – please email StNeotsRefer- ral@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or ask at the library. This is a free event but donations are always welcome. Tea, coffee and splendid biscuits will be available! Terrific Tuesdays Our Tuesday morning Duplo and games for the under 5s con- tinues between 10am and 1pm every Tuesday in our children ’ s library with the usual selection jigsaws, Orchard games, build- ing blocks and soft toys. And then in the afternoon join us for Rhymetime at 2.15pm – except 24 October which is half term . Rhymetime is perfect for pre - school aged children, including babies. Rhyming language and songs really help with speech and early reading development. No need to book for either of these sessions - just drop in to meet up with other families. Children need to be accompanied by an adult. Super Saturdays Our popular Saturday morning sessions continue this month. Our Lego club will run on 7 and 21 October – open to all ages. Family Board Games will be available on 14 and 29 October - suitable for aged 4 and over. Just turn up if you ’ d like to take part - children under 8 do need to be accompanied by an adult please. There is no charge for these sessions but it helps us to keep them going if you could drop a small donation in the box. Knit Lit Our Knit Lit book club meets every other Friday from 7pm until 9pm . The next meetings are on 6 and 20 October . New knitters welcome – just turn up! P3 information drop - ins for the over 65s Caroline is back this month and ready to offer her usual helpful advice and support on how to continue to live well and inde- pendently. She will be at the library on Tuesday 24 October between 10am and 12 noon . Just drop in, no need to book an appointment . If you would like to find out more about how to reduce your food waste, go to https://www.recap.co.uk/ pledge - to - fight - food - waste Village waste bins We are pleased to report that a contract is now in place with HDC ’ s Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance services to empty these bins weekly. The waste will be removed by the contractor and taken to their waste recycling centre to be sort- ed and recycled. If any parishioners become aware of bins which are full / do not appear to have been emptied, we would be grateful if you could e - mail the clerk to the parish council to let her know (clerk@buckdenpc.org.uk). Each bin is numbered, and it would help enormously if you could take a note of the bin number and include that along with its location in your e - mail. Buckden to Brampton Cycleway Whilst it looks as if the target date of 14 th September may be missed, really good progress has been made towards comple- tion. Councillors Allan Jones has resigned as a Councillor. Allan has made a ma- jor contribution to the Council over several years particularly in the area of Climate Change mitigation and we would like to thank Allan for his efforts and to wish him well. Mark Williams has been appointed as a new Councillor. Council Meetings The next Council meeting will be at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 10 th October. The meeting will include a 15 - minute open forum. If you want to speak at the meeting, please let us know what you want to say, by contacting the Parish Clerk. You will get a three - minute slot. The Council Planning Committee will also meet if required. Agendas for both meetings are posted on the Parish notice boards no later than the Saturday preceding the meeting.
