10 Buckden Roundabout October 2023 For Your Diary Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Appeal, 2023 Buckden Community will be taking part in the above appeal and shoe boxes will be collected in November. Operation Christmas Child is a worthwhile charity making a difference at Christmas, by giving shoe boxes containing small gifts to chil- dren in poor countries. Gift filled shoeboxes demonstrate God ’ s love in a tangible way and for many children, are their first gift ever. PLEASE NOTE SWEETS AND TOOTHPASTE CANNOT BE PUT INTO SHOEBOXES DUE TO CUSTOMS REGULATIONS. Gift suggestions: • Toiletries: No Bottles or liquid items please, thank you. • Educational Supplies • Toys: Cuddly toys with CE LABEL please • Other items: Hat, scarf, gloves, sunglasses, hair acces- sories, wind up torch, jewellery set. Are you able to knit a puppet, hat, scarf, gloves, soft toy, or make a bag pencil case or puppet for a Christmas shoebox? Patterns are available. Of course, you may like to do your own shoebox, and this would be very welcome, as well. Donations of money always welcome for transportation as it costs £5 to transport each box. Teams made up on the night. Emphasis on FUN. £2 refresh- ments. Tuesday 28th November 7pm - 9pm Another FUN quiz. As above. Wednesday 29th November 7 - 9pm Swap or Pay. An evening when you can bring your once loved clothes, handbags, jew- ellery or hats to swap or to sell. Entry £5 plus £2 for refresh- ments. From Baby items to Seniors All welcome to join in recycling. (Any leftovers will go to charity shop). Saturday 9th December 2.30pm Hand bells for Christmas. Retiring collection All most welcome at the above events. Please tell your friends, family and neighbours. Sort out what you want to bring for Swap or Pay event. We can arrange transport if needed.
