Days have been largely dry with the lowest daytime temperature rarely below 20 C, and with several days with a temperature in the high 20s! The somewhat inclement weather did not stop the crowd at Buckfest having a great time. Nothing, even the relatively heavy rainfall mid - afternoon, was going to dampen their spir- its. Once again, Buckfest looks to have raised a significant amount for local charities and it is a credit to the village that it is so well supported, even in these trying times. Check the centre pages for some images from the day taken by our own Alec MacAndrew. We have much in the way of content this month. Terry Hay- ward ’ s History of the Parish Council continues with part 9 on page 19 and covers the development of the A1 and the A14. Our series of articles highlighting local businesses continues with an in - depth look at Hardwick Dene following an interview the manager, Paul. This article can be found on pages 13 and 16. We also have a couple of articles from different contributors on page 17. One about advanced driving and the benefits of following that guidance, and one from the Waste Minimisa- tion Team at HDC about what we can do to help in the battle against climate change through reducing food waste. Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month: www.buckdenroundabout.info This month ’ s editor - Ian Carter Editor ’ s Page
