This year we ’ ll be launching ourselves in to Christmas with a wreath making workshop for adults at Buckden Library. Create and take home your own festive masterpiece! We ’ re pleased to welcome local gardener and skilled crafter, Penny to guide us through the process of making a willow wreath using foliage, ribbon, and other decoration – maybe with a book - ish theme... As a subsidised Engage event, we have been able to keep tick- et price to a minimum at £15 per person. All materials will be provided although you are very welcome, and encouraged, to bring your items special to you that you might like to include in your creation. Places will be limited and pre - booking is essential at the library counter, or by email at StNeots.Referral@cambridgeshire.gov.uk. Tickets must be paid for, in cash, either when booking or within the week please. Terrific Tuesdays Our Tuesday morning Duplo and games for the under 5s con- tinues throughout the winter between 10am and 12.30pm in our children ’ s library. Jigsaws, simple board games, Duplo and bricks, and our ever popular farm yard are all available for this stay and play. Rhymetime is back on Tuesday 5 November at 2.15pm after its half term break with rhymes, songs and fun for children aged 0 - 4. A great way to get them engaged with language, and maybe take some time to choose those bedtime story books too. There ’ s no need to book and no charge for either activity - just drop in to meet up with other families. Children must be ac- companied by an adult. Sensational Saturdays Our popular Saturday morning clubs, Lego (all ages) and Fami- ly Games and Puzzles (over 3s), take place every week be- tween 10am and 12.30pm . No need to book, just drop in! Chil- dren under 12 do need to be accompanied by an adult please and a suggested donation of 50p per builder would be appreci- ated if you can. Over 65s support drop in Jeni from P3 will be here every fourth Tuesday of the month offering free information, advice and support for the over 65s and their families. The next visit is on 26 November from 10.30am until 12.30pm. No appointment is needed, just pop in for help and guidance on how to continue to live inde- pendently. Frances is a freelance marine biologist and author. She started her marine journey at Port Erin on the Isle of Man, studying the reproductive biology of British fishes for her PhD. She later worked for the Nature Conservan- cy Council carrying out surveys of marine life around the UK. Frances tells us that 151 of the 195 countries in the world have coastlines and so many, many people have the opportunity to walk on the shore, swim, snorkel, sail or to experience marine life in other ways. Frances will tell us about the varied ocean habitats of this immense ecosystem, concentrating on her favourite habitats and species. Everyone is most welcome to attend. Booking is not nec- essary.
