17 Buckden Roundabout May 2023 Village News May 2023 We are seeing so many new faces at Buckden Library as people move in to our lovely village. A big welcome to everyone who is settling in, unpacking boxes, finding their way around and wondering which room to redecorate first! A Cambridgeshire library card will work in any Cambridgeshire library, so if you have previously used your card elsewhere in the county you can continue to do so in the library on your (new) doorstep. If you have moved from further afield, pop in with some identification (showing your address) to register for your free Cambridgeshire li- brary card so that you can use our services. It would be great to wel- come you! As well as a wide range of books for adults and children, you can find free WiFi at your library, public access PCs, printing and photocopy- ing, quiet space to work, postage stamps for sale, and local infor- mation... or you could try one of the activities below … Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult at all our activities please. Storytime and craft with the Huntingdon Child and Family Centre Julie from our local Children ’ s Centre will be with us on Thursday 11 May at 2pm with a Gingerbread Man story and craft session. Call in or use the contact details below to get in touch. Ferrule replacement service Did you know we can replace the grey, NHS style ferrules at your li- brary? In case you don ’ t know what a ferrule is (we didn ’ t!) it ’ s the rubber foot on the end of a walking stick or walking frame. It is im- portant that these are replaced when they become worn, in order to prevent slipping. So, if yours is looking a little tired, pop in to see us! Time to apply for or renew your bus pass? We can help. To renew, just call in with your existing bus pass. If you are applying for your first pass, and are of pensionable age, you will need to bring proof of age, proof of address and your national insurance number. There is no charge for this service.
