He remembers fun and games on the football field opposite his school. There were stalls and races like egg and spoon and three - legged race and a dressing up competition. Graham had been dressed up as a popular comic actor of the time called Graham Moffatt because they shared the same name. The grown - ups liked him but Graham wasn ’ t so keen. He remembers that the mums led the kids and they all had a great time, even though the weather was actually quite cool and it wasn ’ t sunny. All the children were given a medal and a mug at the end. Graham still has his medal, which is photographed here. He says it must have had a red, white and blue ribbon originally but that part hasn ’ t survived over the 70 years since. What can you remember of the Coronation celebrations? Would you like to share those memories with us? Buckden Yard Sale and Walkabout 2022 Details on page 19
