March 2023

18 Buckden Roundabout March 2023 BJFC Our pitches have not enjoyed the weather recently, following advice from our groundsman we have had to take the de- cision to cancel/postpone any home games including the Dribblers and our Inclusive team, The Owls. Drainage at the field is an ongoing issue, and unfortunate- ly requires a significant amount of invest- ment which the VHT do not have the funds for – it is however, a priority and funding options are being investigated. Our sessions are free of charge, all run by FA qualified coaches, every Sunday, 10 - 11am at Buckden playing fields, the more the merrier! If you ’ d like to come and join this amazing group of children, please message or contact Matt on 07803 000690 or by email mattbjfc@gmail.com Dribblers Sessions Our Dribblers sessions run throughout the year from 9 - 10am at Buckden playing fields. Sessions cost £1.50 per week, our guide age range is from age 4, but this is very much down to the individual child so if you think you have a child that is ready to join us – please contact us, you will find us on Facebook – Buckden Dribblers! We are on the look out for more coaches to help us run these sessions – our current ‘ Big Dribblers ’ coaches will be moving on from September when they form an U7 team and as such we will require new people. BJFC will pay for all coaching courses, first aid and DBS checks and you will receive support from us all throughout your journey. If you are interested in finding out more or would like to speak to a member of the team please contact Ian on 07816 753785. New Development Squad We are regularly approached by players looking to join one of our teams, but many are sadly at maximum capacity. We are looking to start a new Development Squad to give these chil- dren a chance to play, learn and be coached until they are able to join a team. We are looking for a coach for this, the club will fund any necessary courses or training required. For more in- formation contact our chairman Michael on bjfcchair- man@hotmail.com New Tea Bar We were absolutely thrilled to have been chosen by Howdens Kitchens to be the recipients of a brand new kitchen in our pavilion before Christmas, as part of their pilot scheme to help make grassroots football clubs more self - sustainable. They were very impressed with the building, the locality to the pitches, as well as the attitude, aspirations and ethos of our club. We can now offer a tea bar, with hot and cold food and drinks every match day and every Sunday for our Dribblers/ Owls parents – but we do need more volunteers. All equip- ment and supplies are kept at the pavilion as well as a fridge, so all that is required is people to serve on the day for 2 - 3 hours on a Saturday morning and 1.5 hours on a Sunday morn- ing on a rota basis – so not every week either! If you could help us, please contact our chairman Michael on bjfcchair- man@hotmail.com Monday Club ladies enjoying an excellent annual lunch at the Vine in January.
