17 Buckden Roundabout March 2023 Library and Knot Garden March 2023 Engage in the afternoon – Kimbolton Castle Through the Ages Nowadays Kimbolton Castle is best known as the home of Kim- bolton School, but its history actually stretches back for more than 850 years. On Wednesday 15 March at 2.30 , local historian Nora Butler will be with us to talk about its development from a Norman motte and bailey castle on a different site, to a moated and turreted castle, to a Tudor manor house, the last residence of Katherine of Aragon, and finally to a great 18th century coun- try house, home of the Earls and Dukes of Manchester. This is a free event (donations always welcome) but pre - booking is essential either by calling in at Buckden Library, by email on StNeots.Referral@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or phone 0345 045 5225. P3 drop ins (formerly provided by Age UK) Caroline continues her monthly visits to the library, offering free information, advice and support for the over 65s and their families. The next visit is on 28 March from 10am until 12. No appointment is needed, just pop in for help and guidance on how to continue to live independently. The Hunts Post Our local paper is now available to collect free of charge from Buckden Library. New editions are on the counter from Thurs- day. Just call in to pick up a copy. Time to apply for or renew your bus pass? We can help. To renew, just call in with your existing bus pass. If you are applying for your first pass, and are of pensionable age, you will need to bring proof of age, proof of address and your national insurance number. There is no charge for this service. Knit Lit Our Knit Lit book club continues to meet every other Friday from 7pm until 9pm . The next meetings are on 10 and 24 March . New knitters welcome – just turn up! BookTrust storytime and craft Our BookTrust story time and craft with our local Children ’ s Centre continues with Zoom Farm Adventure on Thursday 9 March at 2.15pm . Suitable for children under 4. Please book in advance for this activity, by calling 01480 358340 or 01480 372700 option 1. Terrific Tuesdays! Our Tuesday morning Duplo and games for the under 5s con- tinues between 10am and 1pm in our children ’ s library. Or join us in the afternoon for Rhymetime at 2.15pm during term time. No need to book for either of these sessions - just drop in to meet up with other families. Children need to be accompanied by an adult. Lego Club Our popular Saturday morning Lego sessions continue, this month on 11 and 25 March . Just turn up if you ’ d like to create – open to all ages, but children under 11 do need to be accom- panied by an adult.
