We are looking for more paintings of any kind that we could use as a front cover. We can photograph them if you only have original artwork. We are also keen to get images (photos or paintings) of the village and surrounding areas in prepara- tion for future issues. As I write for the June edition that is certainly not true! Just as pubs and clubs could welcome people to sit outside, the weather has taken a distinctly cooler turn resulting in the coldest early May Bank Holiday since records began! I can only assume that as soon as pubs can allow people back inside, the temperature will climb rapidly! Step 4 of the roadmap to ease lockdown restrictions is due to start on June 21st when we expect to see many restrictions removed. The lockdown has impacted many local businesses in the hardest way so please remember to offer them your support when you can. It was good to see the overwhelming support for the Neigh- bourhood Plan in the referendum held on May 6th, something the Parish Council had worked hard to produce and raise awareness of prior to the referendum. To learn more about the Parish Council and what it does, read the Annual Report on pages 13 - 16. Talking of the Parish Council, Terry Hayward ’ s series of articles about the management of the village continues on page 18 and covers the period immediately following the end of WW2 and includes the building of the Buckden bypass. Unsurpris- ingly, one of the principal complaints at the time was traffic! Finally, we need new deliverers! Please see the ad on page 22 for more details. Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month: www.buckdenroundabout.info This month ’ s editor - Ian Carter Editor ’ s Page
