For example, there have been on - the - doorstep scams taking place, where people ask for a donation of money towards food parcels, and can be- come increasingly aggressive if you refuse. Huntingdonshire District Council ’ s Community Team carry ID at all times, so please ask to see it , and if you are to receive a food parcel , the Council will already be aware of this. Burglaries Over last few weeks there has been an increase in burglaries. When you leave your house, even if it is only for a short time, make sure that doors and windows are secure. It only takes seconds to steal your property. Do not leave keys in obvious places, Burglars know where to look. Keep garage doors closed and locked. If you have a common alleyway, consult your neighbour about sharing the cost of fitting a strong lockable gate across the entrance.
