This ‘ brownfield ’ site is an old clay pit, which closed in the 1970s and was finally restored in 1995. It demonstrates how industrial land can be transformed to benefit both wildlife and the community. At this time of year we hope to see many in- vertebrates such as butterflies and dragonflies and also some of the 263 plant species, including 10 species of stonewort for which this site is nationally important. Please meet at the reserve entrance. The site is just off the A605 with parking available near the Forterra Customer Ser- vice Centre, Peterborough Road, Whittlesey, PE7 1PD.
