The laburnum has been magnificent this year although the warm weather cut short the length of time that it was at its best. The rose bushes are just about to burst into flower and the fruit trees have set their young fruit. We shall be looking forward to a bumper crop of mulberries and medlars. The pomegranates have been moved out of the grow house and into their summer positions. They too are in flower. The gardeners have started the annual box hedge clipping. They start with the larger leafed box as that will need another trim in the autumn. The lamb has already had a much needed haircut. Cutting all the box hedging will take up most of the summer months. Sadly the weeds keep on growing. There are three small bee orchid plants in the grass on the mulberry tree side of the viewing mound, they are marked with sticks and have many buds so with luck they may spread. A big thank you to all of our visitors who have left donations in the box by the gate. These donations go towards the up keep of the garden, including replacement plants and terracotta pots.
