11 Buckden Roundabout January 2024 For Your Diary Buckden Learning Group From Mud To Cement - An Outline of British Architecture Tutor: Ges Hartley Over the 10 weeks we shall mainly be looking at the histo- ry of domestic architecture - churches and cathedrals will barely get a look in! We shall spend quite a while on early patterns of living as this is a topic which is less familiar than the later eras of the National Trust and English Herit- age houses that we have all visited. We shall also be con- sidering how social attitudes, technological innova- tions and changes in climate and landscape have had an impact on the ways our forbears lived in villages, towns and cities.
