The Fascinating World of Honey Bees and Beekeeping On Wednesday 26 February at 2pm , join beekeepers from the Huntingdonshire Beekeepers' Association, based at Hinchingbrooke Country Park in Huntingdon, for an informa- tive and humorous insight into the world of the honeybee and beekeeping. With the aid of a demonstration beehive, a range of beekeep- ing equipment, honey and wax, find out why honeybees dance, what they say when they bump into each other, why they vote to choose a new home, how far a hive of bees fly in a day and lots of other extraordinary facts. Neighbourhood Policing Team Surgery Our local Police team hope to be back with us this month so keep an eye on library window posters for dates and time. These drop - in sessions give you the chance to chat with your local Neighbourhood Policing Team about any concerns or issues you have within the community. Just Draw This new, self - led drawing group for adults is proving very pop- ular. Our sessions book up quickly so let us know if you ’ d like to give this evening of mindful sketching and doodling a go. Our next date is Friday 14 February from 5 until 6.30pm , but we may open up additional dates if there is demand. Materials are provided, along with suggestions and items to draw. No particular skill or experience required, and no obliga- tion to display or share what you do...unless you wish to of course! £1 per person – tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. Over 65s support drop in Jenni from P3 will be here on Tuesday 25 February from 10.30am until 12.30pm offering free information, advice and support for the over 65s and their families. Jenni can help with practical things like finding carers to help with needs at home, or the installation of grab rails, an extra stairs banister or low level step to make getting about your home easier. She can help make applications for a parking Blue Badge, or benefits that are available to increase your available income, and signpost you to other services such as Occupational Thera- pists, social clubs to ease feelings of isolation, and personal alarm systems if you are worried about falls. No appointment is needed, just pop in for help and guidance on how to continue to live independently. Plenty of parking just outside, including Blue Badge parking. Terrific Tuesdays Our Tuesday morning Duplo and games for the under 5s con- tinues between 10am and 1pm every Tuesday in our children ’ s library with the usual selection of jigsaws, Orchard games, building blocks and soft toys. Rhymetime runs every Tuesday afternoon at 2.15 until Easter (excluding half term 18 February) and is perfect for pre - school aged children (including babies). The session supports lan- guage and literacy development, as well as learning essential skills for communicating, such as turn taking and joining in. No need to book for either of these sessions - just drop in to meet up with other families. Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout. Super Saturdays Saturday morning Lego Club (all ages) and Family Board Games Club (over 3s) continue this month from 10am until 12.30pm. Just turn up if you ’ d like to take part - children under 8 do need to be accompanied by an adult please. Martin Lines is a farmer and contractor in South Cambridge- shire, growing mainly arable crops on his family farm and rent- ed lands. In addition to this Martin has a special interest in farm conser- vation management and he has Countryside stewardship schemes on the land he rents and manages. He also supports the delivery of stewardship schemes for a number of other farmers. Martin is the Chief Executive Officer of the Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN) and hopes to see the network grow with like - minded farmers and land managers who will work together, share best practices and demonstrate what can be accomplished for nature and the environment, whilst still growing great produce.
