We therefore want to recruit an Assistant Clerk, initial- ly for 4 hours per week. This may increase over time and extra hours will be required periodically to cover for the Clerk ’ s holidays. The position is based in Buckden Village Hall, but it will be possible to undertake most of the work from home. It is an ideal role for someone who might want to train as a Parish Clerk in the future. This is an excellent opportunity to become involved with and support our residents. You will need to be computer literate, customer focused, organised and flexible. Key tasks include: • Providing administrative support to the Parish Clerk • Undertaking all aspects of cemetery administration to ensure the smooth operation of the cemetery • Supporting the Clerk in undertaking reviews of policy, procedures, and standing orders • Updating the Parish website/social media • Responding to queries raised by members of the public • Answering the telephone, dealing with messages, sorting the post, and filing Training will be given.
