9 Buckden Roundabout December 2022 For Your Diary MONDAY CLUB We are a social group of ladies who meet fortnightly at 2.30pm in the Millard Suite at Buckden Village Hall. At each meeting we either have a guest speaker or partici- pate in an activity of our own. If you have any questions or concerns, please do ring Jane Scott on 811468 or Betty Millard on 810087 Wellbeing Walks Huntingdon December 2022 Welcome to Buckden's walkers, newcomers and group mem- bers. The Wellbeing walks are at non - race - pace and last an hour on average. They are led by volunteer trained leaders and are free of charge. All you need is suitable gear to meet variable weath- er and ground conditions, and a bottle of drinking water in case of dehydration. The group's walks are detailed on a booklet obtainable from the Library and the Mayfield Surgery, or from the contacts at the bottom here. This month, the village “ hosts ” just one of the five group - walks, the “ Hardwick Circular ”, which is on Wednesday the 7 th from 2pm, centred on the Village Hall car park, Burberry Road, (PE19 5UY). Walkers must first register with the leader before the group moves off. Enjoy the walking and the good company! J. Walker, who lived in the city from the 1860s. From Christmas trees to pantomimes and services at the Cathe- dral, Liz describes how the Walker family and other local peo- ple celebrated Christmas during this period.
