And don ’ t for- get that, as the weather gets colder, we are a warm space and open to all. Please keep a note that over the Christmas period all Cam- bridgeshire libraries will be closed from 1pm Saturday 24 De- cember until Tuesday 3 January 2023 . Loan periods will auto- matically be extended to cover this. Read a Little Aloud Christmas Special Following the success of our summer RALA session, on Wednesday 14 December join us for a special story time for grown ups based around the theme of Christmas … and all it ’ s ups and downs! Storytime and craft with the Huntingdon Child and Family Centre The annual BookTrust Storytime prize celebrates and promotes the best books to share with young children. Six books have been shortlisted and each month we will be hosting a special storytime and craft centred around each one, aimed at chil- dren 0 - 5. Join us on Thursday 8 December at 2.15pm for The Horse that Jumped by Thomas Docherty. Booking is essential as places are limited – please call the Child and Family Centre direct on 01480 358340 or 01480 372700 option 1. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Terrific Tuesdays! Our Tuesday fun continues … In the morning join us for Duplo and games for the under 5s between 10am and 1pm in our children ’ s library with a great selection of jigsaws, Orchard games, building blocks and soft toys. Our popular rhymetime sessions are each Tuesday at 2.15pm during term time only – in December we will meet on the 6 th and 13 th only, before our Christmas break. Rhymetime is per- fect for pre - school aged children, including babies. Rhyming language and songs really help with speech and early reading development. No need to book for either of these sessions - just drop in to meet up with other families. Children need to be accompanied by an adult. Lego Club Our popular Saturday morning Lego sessions continue, this month on 3 and 17 December from 10am - 12.30 . Just turn up if you ’ d like to create – open to all ages, but children under 11 do need to be accompanied by an adult. No charge but dona- tions are always welcome. Knit Lit Our Knit Lit book club continues to meet every other Friday from 7pm until 9pm . The next meetings are on 2 and 16 De- cember . New knitters welcome – just turn up! Tinned cooked meat/vegetables/tuna/oily fish. Pasta and pasta sauce, rice, tinned fruit, biscuits, cheese crack- ers. Jam, rice pudding, pot noodles, tinned/packet soup. Shampoo, shower products, sanitary protection, soap, tooth- paste (large and small tubes) men ’ s toiletries. Household cleaning products. Offer your services as a driver to Diamond Hampers to collect donated food from supermarkets and deliver emergency food parcels ( www.diamondhampers.org ) (Please note that a DBS check is required for services as a de- delivery driver.) Diamond Hampers needs help on Christmas Eve in Brampton to assemble Christmas hampers from 11 am to 2pm. They also have an Amazon wishlist for donors to use (telephone (07769 312711) Donations of Christmas products in Buckden: Food - Cake, biscuits, chocolate, selection boxes, stuffing/ Bread sauce mixes, cranberry/redcurrant sauces.
