16 Buckden Roundabout August 2023 Village News Bookings The Hall is quieter this month due to the summer holidays, but we still have a private party, a kid ’ s party and a NHSBT Blood Donor Session along with our lovely regular hirers. Caretaker vacancy The Trust is looking for a new caretaker. This role was origi- nally 10 hours per week but the Trust is open to splitting the role into a key - holder, a weekend cleaner and someone to set up furniture for hires (predominantly at weekends). These roles ideally suit a retired person living in the village. Please email Jo on admin@buckdenvillagehall.co.uk to dis- cuss this further. Your Valley needs you! The water in the Valley has been treated to reduce the al- gae. This treatment takes time so don ’ t expect an immedi- ate improvement! This treatment is on - going. The Trust has a working group of amazing volunteers who help to keep the Valley looking tidy. However, it ’ s a big job so we are looking for more volunteers to help keep the Val- ley looking good for all residents to enjoy. If you have a spare hour a week, or even a month, please email the office on the email address at the bottom of this article. Idea collating The Trustees are creating a short - term and long - term plan for the Hall building and surrounding land and would appre- ciate genuine ideas from Buckden residents. If there is something you feel the Trust could do which would be ben- eficial to all Buckden residents, please email your thoughts to the email address at the end of this article. We have reduced hire rates for residents of Buckden/Stirtloe/Diddington so if you would rather walk to your next meeting than get stuck in traffic, please email me!
