14 Buckden Roundabout August 2023 Village News Therfield Heath – August 2023 The Huntingdonshire Local Group of the Wildlife Trust invites you to join our guided walk at Therfield Heath, Royston on Sunday 6 th August at 10.30 am. This walk will be led by Martin Davies, who is a local butterfly expert. Therfield Heath is chalk grassland, which is hilly in places. We hope to see common blue, brown argos, adonis blue and dark green fritillary butterflies. Please meet at the Heath Café Bar Car Park, Baldock Road, Royston, SG8 5BG. Registered Charity No: 1000412 Buckden Junior Football Club We are gearing up ready for the start of a new season – new kits and equipment have been ordered ready for our Septem- ber start. New Players We do have some teams that are looking for new members to join their squads for the coming season – if you know anyone that may be interest- ed in joining one of our teams, contact bjfcchair- man@hotmail.com for space availability! Tea Bar Volunteers We are looking for volunteers to join a rota to help run our tea bar this season. The tea bar is not only a vital source of income to the club, but also allows us to offer much needed refresh- ments to our supporters and away fans. We would like to be able to run it every Saturday between roughly 8.30 and 11 – but any help within these ours is very much appreciated, even if it is just for one day. To find out more contact treasurer- claire@gmail.com Inclusive Development Team These sessions are for junior Para Superstars with Disabilities and additional needs that would like to join in and play football to develop their skills in a safe, positive and friendly environ- ment. Our sessions are free of charge, all run by FA qualified coaches, every Sunday, 10 - 11am at Buckden playing fields, the more the merrier! Sessions cost £2.00 per week, our guide age range is 3/4, to reception age but this is very much down to the individual child so if you think you have a child that is ready to join us – please contact us, you will find us on Facebook – Buckden Dribblers! New Buckden BJFC Vets We are very excited to be running our own ‘ Vets ’ team this year. The newly created ‘ Badgers ’ will be for over 35’ s – living in Buckden or neighbouring villages – most of our current play- ers are either a BJFC coach or have a son or daughter play in one of our teams. And lastly, if anyone is interested in joining our friendly, hard working and proactive committee, we have a number of op- portunities/roles available – please contact us.
