The sessions will be held on Thursday evenings between 6.00 and 7.30pm, on the Village Hall playing field, and those boys and girls who are under the age of 11 on the 1 st of September 2023 are invited to enrol. There will be a nominal, weekly fee of £2 for participants, or if easier full payment of £25 can be made in advance. The sessions are organised and delivered under the supervi- sion of a fully qualified and experienced English Cricket Board Coach and appropriately authorised helpers. All necessary equipment will be provided, but we are happy if any child has their own bat to bring it along. The focus will be on a mix of skilled coaching and game play, to ensure young players development and enjoyment for those wishing to learn about cricket and perhaps eventually become a future Joe Root or Heather Knight. To enrol your child for these sessions please just turn up on Thursday the 20 th of April, on the playing field. All they need to wear is clothing and trainers that allows them to “ run, jump, throw and swing a bat ”. Senior Cricket For senior cricketers Buckden CC runs three Teams - the 1st and 2nd Teams on Saturdays, participating in Hunts Cricket League Divisions One and Four respectively, with a Sunday Eleven playing in Hunts Cricket League Division Five. Matches start this Year on the 7 th of May and play through to the first week in September. Players of all abilities are welcome to join Buckden CC, we have an active membership with ages ranging from their early teens, to on occasions their early 70’ s. A Special Thank You We owe a “ big thank you ” to Naomi Plant and Matt Chesters who were the “ masterminds ” behind our crowd funding ap- peal for a new mobile cricket net and of course to those many community members who readily contributed. The new net will ensure that all players, young and old will be ready for the 2023 Season.
