10 Buckden Roundabout April 2023 For Your Diary Spring Walks – April 2023 The Huntingdonshire Local Group of the Wildlife Trust invites you to come along to the following walks in April. Our annual bluebell walks will take place at Brampton Wood on Sunday 23 rd April and Saturday 29 th April, 10.30am for ap- proximately 2 hours. The walks will be led by George Cottam and other Wardens, depending upon demand. We will look at the rich variety of spring flora, focusing on the bluebells. We also hope to see and hear the wonderful birdsong at this time of year. Please meet at the Visitors Barn, near Brampton Wood Car Park, Grafham Road, Brampton, nearest postcode PE28 0DP. Dr. Pat Doody will lead this walk and he will focus on one of Portholme ’ s specialities, the Snakeshead Fritillary. We also hope to see and hear corn bunting and skylark. Paul Jones and Fiona Hendley *Time is now getting short as the tickets are being requested.* Paul Jones first came to promi- nence as the first lead singer with the pop group Manfred Mann. His wife, Fiona Hendley, performed as an actress in such televi- sion programmes as "The Widows". They will both be com- ing to Perry Baptist Church on Friday 21st April at 7pm . Though we will have memories of them in their professional careers this will be an opportunity for us to hear what has happened in their lives since coming to fame. Together they will present a humorous, inspiring and uplifting evening, with great songs, as they share their journey of faith. The evening will have a free entry, but we would ask that those wishing to attend ask for free tickets to ensure we have seats for those attending. This will be the last opportunity for members to purchase items from the shed.
