Not much, except that at the time we lived in a country that only had an average of one inch of rain in a year, and this was not an April Fool. It was the only time when I recall seeing any rain there during a period of 18 months, and it rained so much that there were floods! Aden was always noted for its barren rocks, but as the flood subsided we saw the barren rocks on the hills turning green. It was as if the dead barren rocks were coming to life. Seeds of hope lay in the hills waiting to be nurtured with the water, bringing the miracle of new life. The first weekend of April this year is Easter, when we remem- ber the death and resurrection of Jesus. Once again we come to the miracle of new life when it seems impossible. Jesus said “ I am the resurrection and the life ” (John 11 verse 25). He spoke those words to Martha at the time of the death of her brother, Lazarus and in so doing sought to remind her that there was hope! The resurrection weekend, Easter, is also a message of hope, but hope we know when we trust Jesus as our Saviour and Lord. We may roll the Easter eggs, but it was as the stone was rolled from the grave of Jesus that Jesus came forth to roll the boulders of sin and doubt from our lives. This Easter, let us never forget that there is hope. Soon, we hope our buildings will be “ resurrected ” as a place of worship. Depending on government guidance, that could be this month that we resume worship at 10.30am each Sunday. In the meanwhile may I invite you to join with us each Sunday in worship through our online services on Facebook and YouTube. For those with the internet facility check the church out at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/ UCxdghslFLULGCblekWCQ4pg/videos You are all welcome to join us at any time through these means if you are not able to attend the building.
