We are looking for more photos and paintings of any kind that we could use as a front cover. We especially need photos and paintings of autumn scenes, and of events in the village. We should be grateful for photos (or even paintings!) of the coro- nation celebrations in the village. Please note that photos should ideally be in portrait format and should be a minimum of 2400 x 1700 pixels. More is better! Whilst I am enjoying the warmer days, it does make me dread the cold, dark ones just around the corner all the more. It really is disheartening to both leave for and arrive home from work in the dark! As I write, the entries for our Christmas cover competition are still being received and we are looking forward to judging them shortly, and announcing the winners in our December issue. We ’ ve been delighted with the response so far and are expecting a final flurry over the next few days. Christmas is obviously looming on the horizon, and it is no surprise that there are several articles and events in this edi- tion about the upcoming season. There are also some practi- cal articles (waste collection schedule) and some pleas for help - both Godmanchester Foodbank and Operation Christ- mas Child are seeking support. November will see two annual events come round again. First- ly, the village service of Remembrance will take place at St Mary ’ s on Sunday 12th November. It is always superbly attended and I expect no different this year. Significant funds are normally raised - see the article regarding the British Le- gion on page 8. Sunday November 26th will see the switching on of the Christ- mas Lights on the High Street at 4pm. This year the event is being organised by the Community Events Team. See the Par- ish Council website and Facebook page for the latest infor- mation. Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month.
